Kamee June Photography Workshop!!!

Months before the workshop even existed, I prayed that Kamee would have one. She then had one in Arizona and posted that she would be having a California workshop and I was in HEAVEN! Ahhhhhh!

Ok so I totally love the works & personality of Kamee June Photography (Kamee Nuzman). I first discovered her on Facebook through a friend and couldn't let go from there. I am in process of becoming a professional photographer and I was looking up to Kamee. Her photos inspired me, made me think more of the power pictures hold, and value what I have as a photographer. I know they say to not idol something so much that it will either lower your confidence or make you crazy. But I think my obsession with Kamee is healthy....really I’m not gonna go there. I just love her pictures! I hope that other people discover her as I did!

The day came for the workshop and I was as nervous and excited as if it was my first day at high school! Of course Kamee welcomed me with open arms and her radiant smile. I got there a little early and met a few of the ladies, Rhonda & Michelle. As a matter of fact, Michelle Peterson lives in my area and we share a network of friends so even though it was my first time meeting her in person, I feel like we have already been friends. :D

The day started off with some “Hellos” & “Welcomes” and it was interesting to meet all the people who attended and to find out who they would love to take pictures of and what a reality TV show would be called after their life. haha. Kamee went over some techniques and how to’s with the basics of photography to the technical. A couple hours zoomed by and we had lunch. Man, the spread was awesome! There were these yummy ciabatta like sandwiches and fruit & veggie dips and pastas. It was delicioso! Then OFF WE WENT...to the Chino Airport for our very own private photo shoot!

Our models were the beautiful Kara Keough and Kyle Bosworth. If you google them, you will see how cool they are!!!! At first I was a little intimidated because I have never took pictures of ‘famous’ people. lol. But after a few shots I was going in to get what I could! All of us in the workshop were like hungry wolves and we wanted more! Kara & Kyle had a very intimate session with us and I am so appreciative of them both for opening up to us newbies.

Without further adou... HOT RIGHT?!?!?!

And then the 2 hour shoot was over.   :(

But I couldn't leave without a pic with Kara! Thanks to Rhonda Bowman for snapping this amazing pic of us.

After the shoot we headed back to ‘headquarters’ and the second half of the workshop started. Now it was time for the post process & business end of the deal. This was the part where I was all ears! You see, I want to start my own photography business but there are so many things to get lined up that it scares me. But after hearing the breakdown of it all, I realized that it is possible with a little elbow grease, patience, and money. haha. Yes, Money. If you wanna make the money, you gotta show a little money. That said, a few of us headed to Miguels in Corona for some food & fun. We were all sober, but Amanda got pics that might prove otherwise (**wink wink** Kamee!!).

So my overall thoughts on this whole photography thing....LOVE IT EVEN MORE! I walked in to Kamee June’s Workshop a dreamer and walked out a Believer! How you like that one. lol. I made new friends in the photography business and feel like I belong to a private club or something. The kindness and diligence of the group at the workshop have made me see that I can trust people and look for help instead of trying to figure it all out on my own. I am not alone. Instead I am on CLOUD 9!

What I learned...practice, practice, practice! Oh and make sure I charge what I am worth. And about now I feel like I am a million dollars. Nah, I wont charge a million bucks to take your pictures, but I gotta charge something. Know what I mean, Jelly bean. Mamas gotta eat!  :D

I would like to take this time to say a HUGE & Unforgettable MAHALO to Theeeeeeee miss Kamee June Photography for this amazing workshop. Kamee is so cool that you just wanna clone her and throw her in your purse. I hope to see her more in my near future and will always appreciate everything she has done for me. This is just the beginning and it’s looking a little bright!
